Fink, Princess Pavillions 14.10.15
It was another learning curve night at Fink. The gig itself was ambient, and atmospheric, and the lighting attached itself to this, at least during the first three songs of Fink. As a photographer shooting a live band I tend to want two things, good lighting (or the ability to use my flash) and an energetic band. The majority of the time, one of these things is missing, sometimes both. I struggled this night with the lack of lighting, as well as the moodier performances but in speaking to a lovely local photographer afterwards I felt better. His advice, you can only shoot what's in front of you, so just make the most of the shots that you are able to get. Photographing Fink wasn't the easiest task, but the shots I managed to get were atmospheric like the performance, so in my mind, that means job done.
