Lucy, Portrait Photography via Zoom, 20.1.21

Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken using Zoom and the power of the internet!

Some words about the shots…
The big thing about shooting online is that quest of letting go of perfection. You have less control shooting this way than face to face, so there’s an element of that. And technology wise, we’d come so far in terms of crisp imagery, so it feels like a step back to then do something where things are grainy, blurry and just generally a lower picture quality. I used to really obsess about photographs not having noise in them, especially with live music photography but I’m bringing my head around embracing that and these Zoom shoots are another extension of that embracing.

A bit of a mixed bag on this specific shoot. We started with mirrors, which are always difficult on Zoom but I obviously felt like I should throw Lucy in at the deep end. Then we moved onto headshots, before finishing on shots with plants, specifically obscuring.

I hope you enjoy these Zoom portraits!
