Olivia, Portrait Photography via Zoom, 6.2.21

Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken using Zoom and the power of the internet!

Some words about the shots…
I don’t think she’ll mind me saying but Olivia was super nervous during the first part of this shoot. I think it’s something that people overlook, or just aren’t willing to open up with a lot. I still get nervous before every shoot, even if it’s someone that I’ve worked with loads. That’s kind of the good thing about shooting via Zoom, I get to have several nervous wees in the thirty minutes leading up to the shoot. Anyway, it’s worth noting that it’s normal to have anxiety. Photographing and being photographed, no matter how much you do it, isn’t a ‘normal’ human experience. Add on top of that, you care about what you’re doing, you want to create good things. There’s a pressure to that. Thus, anxiety.

Anyway, onto the shots. We had decided to just do headshots. Olivia was quite a happy smiley human bean so we mainly just worked with that and being silly. Whenever Olivia ran out of ideas I just threw her an emotion or a pose idea and we were off again. Very simple shots but I quite like them as a vibe. Sadly, I do wish we had shot face to face because I think the clarity of that and maybe a flash would have definitely suited it all more. It was enjoyable regardless though!

Anyway, I hope that whoever is reading this digs these Zoom shots.
