Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken between January 2019 and April 2019, all in Cornwall. The locations of these photographs are as follows; Heartlands in Pool, Hayle and Falmouth.

How were these photographs taken?
You’ll see from the variety of style of shot here that I’ve been trying to find my own aesthetic within these types of photography. Originally this was through the use of things such as prisms, a lot of which involved getting things right in camera. Then I moved on to a digital mixed media of sorts. This involved experimenting with watercolour and acrylic paintings and basically overlaying them over the top of my photographs. More recently I’ve been putting clingfilm over my lens and then smearing Vaseline over the clingfilm for a bit of a dreamy effect. Doing this goes against a lot of my perfectionism in photography. Things end up out of focus, or at least only in a soft focus, which is great if you don’t want something to look like a photograph, but not so great if you do!

I’m not sure what style I prefer yet but I hope you find beauty in the shots that I’ve taken…
