Some words about the shots…
Rachel and I have been booked in to shoot several times but honestly, every time we were due to shoot there was a storm. Luckily though, this time we managed to have the weather on our side which was perfect as Rachael’s studio looks gloriously fresh (as fresh as an artists studio can be anyway) with the sunlight hitting it.
In terms of the shots, I just let Rachael do her thing as I milled about, trying not to get in the way too much, and capturing as many things that interested me as possible. When it comes to series of images such as these I try more to build photographs that create a context to what I’m capturing when shown as a series of images rather than having someone pose for me (it’s probably the street photographer in me that wants to work this way!) I hope that the images present here show hints of Rachael’s work without giving too much away!
