Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken in a graveyard in Camborne, Cornwall, UK.
Some words about the shots…
I’ve been hankering to do a more gothic shoot for awhile. I don’t think I’ve shot in a graveyard for probably about four years, even then it wasn’t my choice but the models! It’s something that, to me at least, is hard to do without it feeling cheap and tacky. I was definitely aware of this going into the shoot.
In terms of the shots, I tried to do a couple of ‘generic’ graveyard shots whilst trying to keep it tasteful. I mixed these up with a bunch of pretty experimental shots which I achieved from either slowing the shutter speed down, or duct taping prisms together. I was meant to do double exposures but it completely slipped my mind despite having a big list of shots to do on my phone, what a plonker! I then obviously finised up with some more gothic shots outside of the church which I guess colour wise don’t really fit with the rest of the set but in terms of vibe I feel like they add something.
I really feel like I’m pushing on in terms of planning shoots, but mainly in terms of creating a vibe.
On to the next shoot!
