Given that Blue River have just recorded a new single, it seemed appropriate to get together to get some new promotional portraits for them.
A lot of bands seem to think that you can take one portrait every five years and get away with it but given how important a tool social media is these days it’s definitely good to have as many photographs as you can so at least you can pretend that you’re super busy. In terms of being proactive and having your social media look busy, Blue River are basically the masters of the local scene.
In terms of the shots, as the band are getting slightly heavier, we wanted to reflect that, but I think we’ve retained a lot of the style that we’ve worked on before (just in more industrial settings rather than on the beach!) and just refined it.
I probably haven’t done a promotional portrait in what must be nearly six months given the pandemic so to get this one under my belt felt good. I’m not entirely sure how many I’ll be doing given that music isn’t really happening but fingers crossed that bands will want to build a series of images for when they are able to gig again!
