Some words about the shots…
People laugh when I say that I’m a technophobe. How can I be, I’m using a camera, editing using a computer. I’m not a technophobe right? But when it comes down to actual editing software there are two types of people. There’s the whizz who can basically take an image of a hut and turn it into a cathedral. Then there’s people that do the majority of work in camera. There’s probably an inbetween too but I’m yet to find them.

Anyway, I’m one of those in camera guys. Thus, a technophobe. That said, given that everything I do is in camera, there’s definitely a sense of happy accidents. I have an idea of what is going to work based on experience but most of the time that is thrown out of the window through my own human error.

Anyway, I think a lot of the time people probably look at some of my images and think that I must edit them to hell. In reality I’m just putting my preset over images and then letting them fly. I try not to get too hung up on the editing side of things. Maybe that shows. Who knows?

On to the Zoom shoot. Ellie was great. Really happy to pull poses whilst balanced on a storage cabinet which goes to show how committed Ellie was. Initially we were going to work on mirror and/or plant based images but once Ellie got into that silky jumpsuit the shoot kind of took on a life of its own. I think moodboards and planning is great and has saved me A LOT of the time. Sometimes you have to go with the flow and see what happens. That’s what we did here and I think it’s better for it.

I hope you enjoy these Zoom portraits!
