Shaleema , Portrait Photography via Zoom, 2.3.21
Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken using Zoom and the power of the internet!
Some words about the shots…
Throughout my time shooting portraits I’ve always been aware that regardless how confident a person is, they will always second guess what to do with their hands when they are having their portrait taken. Whilst doing these Zoom shoots, a big part of pre-planning has gone towards asking people what props they have at hand to use. Part of this is to create a vibe but a bigger part is to just have the person being photographed to have something to work with, especially as it’s a lot harder for me to pose people as I’m at the other end of a computer screen, rather than face to face.
That said, Shaleema was utterly fierce despite this being their first Zoom shoot. They didn’t have much to work with in terms of using their hands but were just so effortless in every pose that they did. Working with people who have this ability is few and fair between, trust me. I can’t wait to hopefully work with Shaleema face to face once we’re all able to travel and work again.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these Zoom portraits
