Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken on a rainy day around Truro, Cornwall.
How were these photographs taken?
I’ve been hankering for a super wide-angle lens for a long time but sadly I’ve not had the funds to do so yet, so instead these were taken on my 24-70mm zoom lens (I know 24mm is pretty wide in fairness but I want to get even wider!) The 24-70mm isn’t a general lens that I would use for portraits (it’s definitely my go to for gig photography though) so it was interesting to mix it up and use that more.
Having a wider lens definitely opens you up for the potential for different, more interesting perspectives that I don’t think I would necessarily be able to achieve (at least, not without a fair amount of planning) with the prime lenses that I have in my arsenal currently.
I’ve got to say, this was one of those strange days to shoot where it’s bright but dull and frequently raining, so a fair amount of changes to deal with but I hope you all think the shots came out well, give me your thoughts in the comments…
Some words about the model…
I’ve known Redley for awhile as I was the first person to shoot portraits for his band, The Rezner (You can check out their latest single by clicking here.) While he hasn’t really been in-front of the camera in a solo capacity, I pretty much knew that he’d be confident anyway and he definitely nailed the vibe we were going for here. Thanks Redley
